How much does paying by card in Hungary cost you?
Hungary is one of the most common holiday and wellness destinations for Czechs, and when paying by card a small rate deviation is easy to miss — forint prices run into the thousands, so the gap between banks grows faster than it seems. Your bank converts the amount from HUF into crowns at its own rate, and the difference from the official rate is its markup.
We quote forint rates the way Czech banks do — per 100 HUF — just as you find them on your bank's rate list, so you can compare one to one. The reference is the official rate of the Czech National Bank (CNB), published every business day.
The table shows which bank or card has the lowest markup on the forint. The ranking for HUF need not match the euro — some banks charge more on less-traded currencies.
💡 How to read the table: The rate is quoted per 100 HUF. Green values mean a rate better than the CNB reference, red values mean you overpay. The higher the red number, the bigger your loss.
⚠ Yellow rows mean the rate's date in the table is not today (e.g. the last business day, a weekend or a holiday, or the bank has not published a rate for the current day yet). They follow the rate date, not the time of our last fetch.
